Welcome to meganjhall.com! If you've seen me before under Spark Coaching, you're still in the right place. I've rebranded to include a comprehensive portfolio of my academic work as well as my productivity expertise and speaking work. Welcome to the launch of something new! I'm so glad you're here. Take a look around, learn about my work, read an article or two, and get in touch if you'd like to learn more.

You know my formal background from the About page; let me give you a glimpse into more of the story.

A few years ago, when I launched the Spark Coaching website, I had offered my first workshop on time management for academics. I was gratified to see how well received it was and also how it resonated with everyone in the room. It was a nice underscore—along with the great encouragement I had received from several people in my life as I prepared to go live with the website—that this kind of teaching, this kind of engagement, is where it's at for me.

In the workshop I offered five ways to get things done when you're overwhelmed (the topic of an upcoming blog, so stay tuned). From the vigorous head nodding and looks of relief I could see I'd connected with a issue we all face, one that brings up a lot of difficult feelings: resistance, imposter syndrome, stress, fear, and feelings of unworthiness and being out of control. I know those feelings myself, and I was so deeply pleased that we could all be on the journey together. And I'll let you in on something ... in preparing for the workshop, it gave me the metaphorical B12 shot I needed to pick up some of the practices again that I'd let lag: stress management was at top of my list that week, along with NOT checking my email first thing in the morning.

Now, a few years later, I have a few more stress management tools under my belt, and I refuse to check email first thing in the morning (unless it's truly an exceptional day). I'm even writing a new book, borne from my many experiences with dealing with the overwhelm that we high achievers face so often.

You can read more about that book, including an excerpt, here on my website. And I'll be writing many more blogs to come to cover topics I bet you want to learn more about. I'm so glad we're here together, and happy reading!
