Setting up your MLA-style paper

What is MLA formatting? Why do I have to write in it? I’m confused about how to start!


MLA is the Modern Language Association, and its formatting and citation style is the most commonly-used format for students writing in the humanities. Every few years they issue an updated handbook. Most of the basic concepts remain the same from edition to edition, but each edition responds to current needs (for example, how to cite podcasts or use inclusive language).
